Naples Art Institute Welcomes Marius Wiget as Artist in Residence

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NAPLES, FL — Naples Art Institute is pleased to welcome Marius Wiget as its newest Artist in Residence. Originally from Switzerland, Wiget brings a dynamic mixed media practice that moves between realism and abstraction, blending influences from street art, graphic design, and classical painting techniques.

Wiget’s residency at Naples Art Institute will run from March 16 through June 4, during which visitors will have the opportunity to experience his creative process firsthand through open studio access, special programs, and public engagement opportunities.

His work is characterized by expressive compositions, layered textures, and a visual language that balances spontaneity with precision.

“We are excited to welcome Marius to Naples Art Institute,” said Frank Verpoorten. “His contemporary approach to painting and mixed media reflects the kind of creative exploration and artistic dialogue that our residency program is designed to foster.”

Wiget’s residency will provide visitors with a behind-the-scenes look into the development of his work, offering insight into his evolving techniques, influences, and artistic process. By working within the Institute’s creative environment, the residency creates opportunities for direct interaction between artist and community, encouraging meaningful engagement with contemporary art in an accessible and personal way.

Naples Art Institute’s Artist in Residence program supports working artists by providing space and visibility while enriching the cultural experiences available to the Southwest Florida community.
