Naples Art Institute Presents Miró: Fire in the Soul
Naples, FL — Naples Art Institute is proud to present Miró: Fire in the Soul, a compelling exhibition exploring the poetic and imaginative work of renowned Spanish artist Joan Miró. The exhibition will be on view through April 4, 2026 at Naples Art Institute in downtown Naples.
Miró: Fire in the Soul offers visitors a focused look at the artist’s distinctive visual language through a selection of graphic works and paintings that reflect his fascination with nature, mysticism, and his Catalan heritage. Known for his bold forms, playful symbols, and expressive use of color, Miró developed a highly personal style that blurred the boundaries between abstraction and figuration, inviting viewers into a world that is at once dreamlike and deeply rooted in the natural world.
Throughout his career, Miró sought to move beyond traditional representation, instead creating images that evoke emotion, movement, and imagination. His work often incorporates recurring motifs—stars, birds, eyes, and organic shapes—that together form a visual vocabulary unique to the artist.
“Miró believed that art should come from the deepest parts of the human spirit,” said Frank Verpoorten, Executive Director and Chief Curator of Naples Art Institute. “This exhibition offers audiences a chance to engage with the playful yet profound imagery that made Miró one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.”
Visitors can further enrich their experience through docent-led tours, which provide deeper insight into Miró’s creative process and the themes that shaped his work.
Miró: Fire in the Soul is on view from December 13, 2025 through April 4, 2026, and admission is free for Naples Art Institute members.
