Naples Art Institute Announces New Artist in Residence: Ketty Rodríguez Quevedo

Naples, FL – November 20, 2025 – Naples Art Institute is pleased to welcome Cuban visual artist Ketty Rodríguez Quevedo as its newest Artist in Residence. Rodríguez Quevedo will be on site from December 1, 2025 through February 28, 2026, developing new work, engaging with the community, and maintaining an open studio within Naples Art Institute.

Rodríguez Quevedo is a painter whose work moves through poetic symbolism and intuitive, personal exploration. Her artistic formation began at the prestigious San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts, and continued at The University of the Arts (ISA) in Havana, where she graduated with honors. Her practice has been shaped by numerous solo and group exhibitions across Cuba, the United States, and Europe. In 2016, she was selected for a residency at the Vermont Studio Center, a competitive program that supports emerging voices in contemporary art, and began exhibiting her work in the United States that same year.

Her work is recognized for its strength and sensitivity, qualities that have drawn attention from established artists, including Frank Stella, who offered an impromptu studio talk during a visit to Havana after viewing her work.

Rodríguez Quevedo’s residency follows recent Artist in Residence programs at Naples Art Institute by Tomaso Albertini and Orlando Acosta, furthering the institution’s commitment to supporting active studio practice and fostering meaningful engagement between contemporary artists and the community.

We are thrilled to welcome Ketty to Naples Art Institute,” said Frank Verpoorten, Executive Director & Chief Curator. “Her thoughtful approach to storytelling and visual form aligns deeply with our mission to present artists who challenge and enrich our understanding of contemporary culture. We look forward to the dialogue her work will inspire within our community.”

Visitors are invited to observe the artistic process firsthand during Rodríguez Quevedo’s open studio hours and follow her residency journey on Naples Art Institute’s website and social media channels.
