Naples Art Announces Rebranding To Naples Art Institute

Naples, FL - For nearly 70 years, Naples Art has served artists and the community by gathering established and aspiring artists, patrons, and individuals of all ages and abilities to explore their own creativity. Founded on a vision of creating, exhibiting, and teaching visual art; we continue to honor our history while looking toward the future. As such, we are pleased to announce that we have a new name to reflect our evolution - Naples Art Institute.

Executive Director and Chief Curator Frank Verpoorten believes that the name change was long overdue, “From the start of my tenure at Naples Art Institute in 2021, I passionately believed it was critical for us to revise our name to better reflect what we do and who we are. The board is united in this vision, and in every possible aspect this is a formidable moment for us.”

The mission of Naples Art Institute has always been to enlighten, engage, educate, and enrich the community. We are continuing to build on our venerable history and position of leadership, and furthering our mission of being a world-class hub of visual contemporary art with both a local and global footprint.

“Naples Art Institute is a community treasure that is at once a world-class art museum, a studio arts school, and a respected arts education center”, relates Verpoorten, “Our new name projects a confidence in what we are and were always destined to become.”

Since our inception in 1954, Naples Art Institute has added robust educational offerings, festivals, youth classes, and of course, amazing exhibitions. In 2022 alone, the Institute showcased thrilling new exhibitions, including Keith Haring: Radiant Vision, Toulouse-Latrec: Master of the Belle Epoque, and most recently, The Artist’s Hand: Selections From The William Louis Dreyfus Foundation. Our current exhibition M.C. Escher: Reality and Illusion, runs through February 12th, 2023.
