The Naples Art Association recently announced the recipients of the National Art Encounter Competition 2017 & the Maximizing the Minimum exhibition at a preview reception.

The National Art Encounter Competition is a national juried exhibition featuring recent work in all media by artists from across the United States that is on view March 17 through April 15.
RECIPIENTS:
$1,000 Best of Show: Renee Rey for 2 He and Sustaining
$800 First Place: Helier Batista for The Maze
$600 Second Place: Álvaro De Jesús for Universe of Babel
$400 Jurors’ Choice Award: Jeff Whipple for I Need No Orders!
$200 Award of Merit: John Long for Time is Square
$200 Award of Merit: Laurent Dareau for The Night Watch
$100 Honorable Mention: Marco Pinter for Less Ephemeral #9
$100 Honorable Mention: Duke Horn for The REAL Fun House
$100 Honorable Mention: Penelope Breen for Recondite

Maximizing the Minimum is an annual non-themed exhibition featuring small-sized artwork with strong visual impact that is on view February 15 through March 25.
